I have to say I liked this movie and was pleasantly surprised. While it wasn't as good as the first Mummy movie or even the second one, it was still and enjoyable ride.
Brendan Fraser shows us he can still make the audience laugh and is still very good at portraying his character. If I had a complaint with anything its that the movie takes place 20 years after The Mummy Returns. Unfortunately the makeup department decided, hey he's 20 years older right lets give him a fedora.
I forget the guy who portrays his son, but essentially I wasn't wow'ed by his performance. I just saw his same cocky little brat from The Mummy Returns now able to get some. Whoopie.
Maria Bello was another disappointment. Sorry but Rachel Weisz made that character and I don't know about you all but I am SOOOOOO sick and tired of hearing this comment from an actor," Well of course its a great honour to take up the role of whoever from whoever. I mean I am truly honoured but I felt I needed to take the character and make it my own. do something a little different, cause you know just repeating the performance would be rather dull". FOR PETES SAKE JUST REPEAT THE SAME DAMN PERFORMANCE. ITS ACTING PEOPLE. And I'm sorry all Mario Bello brought to the role was a more pronounced english accent.
Otherwise the story/plot I found to be weaker then the Mummy or Mummy Returns. Still a fun ride but yeah...I can't really spoil it suffice to say that when the unwrapped this mummy, they forgot to plug a few holes.
That is all
