I read an article the other stating that Peter Jackson's King Kong was a racist movie. It described the persecution of the black man by the white man, (the black man being kong, and the persecution of the white man him being shot by the soldiers). I'm just like W....T....F....?
I read another one where there is an uproar and movement to change construction worker signs that say "Men At Work" to "People at Work"...The men at work signs are apparently sexist, and degrading towards women. Uhm....er...yeah....ok... goes off to buy some whiskey.
People we need to get over it. Political correctness is ok, hell I'm for it usually but don't over do it. If you see a sign that says men at work, assume people are working. If a book or morvie comes out written in a different era, then guess what, they probably didn't have the internet back then, so they couldn't go on a forum, and vent their frustrations on emo boards and make racist remarks there. Different era folks, get over it and enjoy the book or movie. Use it as a tool to teach your kids the value of accepting all life, (except mosquitoes and earwigs and bed bugs. Go genocidal on their ass).
This is of course nothing new. Bill Cosby made headlines when he essentially said, and this is NOT a direct quote in the slightest, "The white man is not the cause of all our problems". He was speaking out about the lack of educated young black men and women and the need to push them for an education. He also was tired of hearing them say sentences that made zero sense, using swear words including the N word, etc..
While he was bringing to the light a very valid and very true problem being faced in Canada and the states, the media and just about everyone had a field day with him. Soon it was more about how he said what he said, then why or what can we do about it.
I don't have any solutions to the problem, (short of crowning me your king so I may execute the stupid and ignorant...but you know I understand you're all not ready for that). So I guess just do your best to keep a cool head and remember that political correctness has its time and place.
This message brought to you by Julian reading these articles, being bored and deciding to post to a website about them cause you know what? he's in the era for it
