I AM LEGEND is out on DVD and I was able to partake of its alternate ending. Frankly I thought it was lame.

The alternate ending essentially has Will Smith's character surviving and finally leaving NY in search of other survivors with Anna and Ethan. The "Dark Seekers" as the other guys are referred too, are shown to still have retained some of their humanity.

This is an ending closer in many ways to the book, except that they spent no time the entire moving showing that the "Dark Seekers" are in any way shape or form creating a new society. So we're just left to wonder if they will form a new society, if Will Smith will find anyone else, will they even attempt to cure the "Dark Seekers"?

Still worth the extra money if you were a fan of this film and are interested in seeing another ending to this film or generally were a fan of this film or Will Smith.

10 000 B.C had the potential to be either really really good, or really bad. It came in about halfway. Its the story of a tribe of mammoth hunters who are starving. There are less and less mammoth each year and they are slowly dying out. Their spiritual leader has foreseen a child will show them the way and bring new life to them. But not before the 4 legged demons come.

These 4 legged demons are essentially shown to be horses being ridden by Egyptians. The Egyptians apparently travel far and wide to find slaves to help build their empire at the head of the snake (the Nile river). They also use Mammoths to move the heavy stones.

Overall I have to say I disliked the concept of the Egyptians rising to power in those times, taming horses, building pyramids. I am one of the first to admit and believe there is a large gap in our history books. But while I have heard the theory that the Egyptians rose to power earlier then anticipated I've always been under the impression it was well after the fall of the mammoth hunters and mammoths.

Overall I'd say good movie to see if you are looking for something to watch and can't make up your mind. You'll be kept entertained. Not worthy of an Oscar or movie of the year.

Otherwise I will leave you with the next film I am looking forward too.
