I realized I hadn't posted what I thought of some of the movies I've seen in the past few months. So here they are:

AVP:Requiem - A sequel to Alien Vs Predator... AVP from the get go breaks off from continuity and goes off onto its own little world. At the end of AVP, we see the Predator has been infected with an alien that is now loose on the ship. In AVP:Requiem, suddenly the ship is 10 sizes smaller and only 2 predators are around...ok... Well the Predalien matures quickly, kicks butt and forces the ship to crash land on earth. All this is viewed by a veteran Predator who is dispatched to take care of the aliens.

From there we have the usual fights, explosions etc... This Predator does have a few new tricks such as new hand held weapons, dual shoulder cannons, some sort of proximity mine, and even rebuilds his damaged canons into a pistol. While all well and good this Predator is well..a wimp. I got what I wanted in Requiem that I did not get in AVP...the Predator kicking the Aliens butts. But this Predator is smaller, more athletically built then previously seen making him look well, less threatening.

Overall good movie to watch with the guys while drunk, bad movie to take your girl too.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street - This movie is based on a Broadway play in turned based on some short stories from the end of the 19th century. I was pleasantly surprised by the movie. I thought it was a wonderful blend of drama, and kill bill. Sweeney Todd is imprisoned for 15 years for a crime he didn't commit because a Judge is horny for his wife and daughter. He comes back to enact revenge and along the way your tasked with asking yourself is he really justified, or has he become worse then the Judge.

The downside are the fact it is a musical. For me this added a new level of entertainment but for most this will be annoying. They keep going on with dialogue as if breaking out into song is normal so its not bad just odd

Rambo - Ok this movie just plain sucked. its Rambo killing stuff with help. OOoooo. And I really hated the premise. Some people from a church decide to head to Burma to make a difference. Rambo says no and with good reason. But the girl talks him into it played by Julie Benz. This is single handedly the dumbest girl I have ever seen portrayed yet.

Rambo ends up having to kill burmese pirates as they noticed the girl and are getting ready to rape her. So after he kills then and gets ready to turn around and head home she yells. No . Turns to her male friends, and says " This was your idea. We made a commitment". A commitment. We need to head into a fucking war zone cause we made a commitment. Someone shoot the idiot please.

So yeah don't see Rambo. And that's how I saw these movies. Have fun.
